Camp Wilderness is the premier Boy Scout camping facility of the Northern Lights Council. The 2,400 acre "Outdoor Classroom" is situated between beautiful Bad Axe and Mantrap Lake near Park Rapids, MN in Hubbard County and hosts numerous year-round programs for Boy Scouts.
Camp Wilderness is host to miles of trails, multiple shooting ranges, a climbing tower, COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) elements, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats, fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoes, and so much more!
Summer Resident Camp
Each summer Camp Wilderness hosts 1,000 Scouts plus their adult leaders over the course of 6 sessions of week long summer camp. Scouts will be able to work on advancements, challenge their skills and abilities, and make new friends in an outdoor environment.

Merit Badge Weekend
Camp Wilderness is host to two Merit Badge Weekends each year with one session in April and the second in September. Scouts will be able to select one class to complete over the course of the weekend. Classes consist of various merit badges or classes, like MN DNR Hunter Safety. Additionally, Scouts 14+ and adults can attend a Wilderness First Aid course. All participants will be assigned a cabin space for the weekend, but tent camping is available by request.

Boy Scouts can attend Camp Wilderness all winter long! Heated cabins, cross country skis, snowshoes, and sleds are all waiting for Boy Scouts this winter!
A variety of heated cabins with electricity are available to rent each weekend at camp. All cabins have mattresses to sleep in and shower and bathroom facilities are centrally located for your convenience. This is a fun opportunity for families or troops!
