Scouting for Food is the largest community service food drive in our area involving Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers and Explorers.
Your unit should participate in the Council's Scouting for Food community service project and let your local area know about this service project to help your local community food banks. Let's all work together and make this year’s effort even more successful than last year’s and collect more than 85,000 pounds of food across the Northern Lights Council!
How do current health safety concerns affect Scouting for Food?
At the recommendation of the CDC and our community leaders we are ending the Scouting for food campaign.
We need to keep our community and Scouts safe. At the recommendation of the CDC and our community leaders we are ending the Scouting for food campaign. Due to CDC recommendations, Gate City Bank will be going to drive up only, so our lobbies will not be available for food drop off’s after today. If a Scout Unit would like to pick up the boxes and food that we have at each location, they can contact the local phone office phone number during regular hours to set a time up to come in to collect the donations.
We will still have patches available to anyone who helped collect food this year and does any efforts on their own after the campaign is over. However, DO NOT use the door hangers as Gate City Bank will not be equipped to continue this campaign. They do many things to support the community and will be working on another project after our CDC restrictions are lifted.
If you have door hangers or other resources that you did not use please return them back to your district executive or one of the council offices when we are all able to reopen our offices.
