New! District Committee Basic Training

District Committee Training, which has been taught the same way for many years, is evolving. Now, by accessing the BSA Learn Center, district committees will have a consistent, professional learning environment with on-demand content. This replaces the District Committee Workshop and provides learning plans aligned with district committee positions and functions.

Position trained status (D61, D62, D75) will be provided for those who complete their training – every position requires less than one hour to achieve trained status.

Position training includes:

  • District Committee Chair
  • District Committee Vice Chair
  • Membership Chair
  • Fund Development
  • Training Chair
  • Member at Large
  • Activities and Civil Service Chair
  • Nominating Chair
  • Program Chair
  • Camping and Outdoor Chair
  • Advancement Chair

For those who may have trouble finding the courses:

  • From the home page of the BSA Learn Center – select Position (Non Unit Specific Training), then click on the District committee graphic which takes you to the District Committee learning plans – add your plan for your position and begin training!

Or

  • From the home page of My.Scouting - Click on Menu, then My Training, then Training Center, then Position Specific Training

The online training supersedes the District Committee Workshop – please discontinue use of the District Committee Workshop.
